Catherine G.'s Story
Life...My biography...okay, NOW things are different since I was last "here" in 2007. :-) So, let's see... The Cliff's Notes version is: I'm remarried, and oh what an adventure that was, but I'm so glad it all worked out!!!
You see, my new hubby is from Norway, and so we had to deal with immigration, and that was, uhm, let's just say "an adventure". A two and a half year long "adventure" that probably still would have continued on to this day, if we didn't end up finally breaking down and getting an immigration lawyer (like we did in the end). And how long did the lawyer take, you may ask? 4 months, start to finish!! Why, oh why didn't we just get an immigration lawyer from the beginning?!?!?! Oh sorry, I'm ranting. :-)
So anyway, we were FINALLY able to tie the knot on the 29th of December, 2012!! YAY!!
Besides that adventure, my son is still growing like a weed, and is still the light of my life. He towers over me now, which is hard for me to comprehend still, even though I see it with my own eyes. How can someone SO BIG, have been something so tiny once, that fit into the crook of ONE of my arms?! It boggles my mind at times. He's finished with high school, ...Expand for more
which also blows my mind. Where has the time gone?! Wasn't he just born yesterday?!?!?!
My hubby is 3 years older than I am, and is retired. (It's a different world in Norway...) :-) He's really into photography and cameras, which is funny, since I despise having my photo taken. Poor hubby!! He deals with it. :-) He also really loves the Georgia weather, a.k.a. sweltering heat, so he's fitting in just fine.
We bought my childhood home from my mom in January 2013, so that was a huge deal. I've never been a homeowner before. No more apartments for us!!! :-) Not that there's anything wrong with apartments!!! Good grief, please don't misunderstand, and start bombarding me with hate mail accusing me of being "anti-apartment", or something silly like that, LOL!!!! :-)
Oh, and last but not least, as of September 2013, I am unofficially retired as well. :-) Several factors contributed to the decision. If you REALLY want to know the "why" behind that one, just write to me and ask. Otherwise, I'll not bore you with all of the details. :-)
